I have always had an active interest in health as it relates to wellbeing. In so much, when the opportunity arose I returned to school earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training from Lake Superior State University gaining a practical knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology. I furthered this knowledge by participating in an internship program with a progressive and busy physical therapy clinic. Through these experiences developed a deep understanding of injury prevention, recognition, and rehabilitation. Just as important, the education and experiences helped reveal the importance core movement plays in the health of the body and the wellbeing of the person.
This revelation persuaded me to further pursue philosophies and disciplines that focus on this concept. I began my Pilates path 15 years ago and was classically trained and certified by Jennifer Kries to teach the original work as developed by Joe Pilates. During my journey I was also introduced to Gyrotonic, recognizing how this system compliments Pilates I earned my instructor certificate. Over the course of this time, both practicing and teaching these disciplines, I have shared my experience and passion with my clients to ensure that they receive the results that they desire.
Having the overall goal to provide my client’s exactly what their body needs on any given day I completed and received a NCTMB Certified and State of Michigan Licensed Massage Therapist. I received my message therapy education through the Institute of Natural Therapies. To achieve the best results I may use one or more of the following techniques; Deep Tissue; Swedish; Integrative Positional Therapy (IPT); Lymphatic Drainage; and Sports/Injury Recovery Message.
Most recently, I have developed continuing education opportunities for those seeking to maintain their license and/or certifications through, the State of Michigan, NCBTMB, Pilates Method Alliance (PMA), and the American Council on Exercise (ACE).
